Mary Ann Rethke, AKA “Boots”, grew up in Port Arthur, Texas, always wanting to tap dance.
She attended Lamar University and graduated with a BBA. After 35 years of flying around the world as a “stewardess”, she retired from Delta Airlines. She then began looking for something fun that would also give back to the community. A fellow YMCA member introduced her to the Class Act Tap Company and her childhood dream came true.
Mary Ann has been a big sister in Big Brothers Big Sisters for 7 years. She just recently started working at the Women’s Museum in Fair Park.
She thanks her husband, Bruce Weale, and also her new friends in Class Act for their support. MA is the most junior member of Class Act performing in the Follies.
