Seniors' variety show set

ROBERT MILLER, bmiller@dallasnews.com

Let's hear it for the seniors, whose special moment has arrived. Mark Carroll Productions will present Spectacular Senior Follies' As Time Goes By, a collection of variety acts including singers, dancers and showgirls in stunning costumes in a Broadway setting Friday through Sunday at The Eisemann Center.
Spectacular Senior Follies operates under 501(c)3 status and the umbrella of The Dallas Tap Dazzlers.
Beneficiaries include the nonprofit Visiting Nurse Association, Dance Council, Dallas Tap Dazzlers, Dallas Rotary Chorus, Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant, Silver Serenaders, Class Act and the Lake Highlands Songbirds. These organizations are dedicated to supporting and enhancing the lives of seniors throughout North Texas. Contributions are tax deductible, and all sponsorships are fully tax deductible.
The musical production features nostalgic song and dance classics from the 1930s and 1940s in a revue reminiscent of the legendary Ziegfeld Follies. As Time Goes By stars Mark Carroll, Class Act, Buster Cooper, Joe Cutaia, The Dallas Tap
Dazzlers, Trella Hart, The Levee Singers with Ed Bernet, Lu Mitchell, Beth and Rodney Pirtle, Rosemary Rumbley and The Ladies and Gentlemen of the Follies and The Follies Lovelies.
The production, inspired by the Palm Springs Follies, which has been running for 17 years, reflects the vision of talented entertainers and producers Frank Frazier III, Ned Startzel and Mark Carroll as well as a team of professional performers, who channel their efforts in support of the senior performing arts and those groups that bring joy and comfort to area senior citizens.
That ukulele-playing real estate icon Ebby Halliday serves as honorary chairwoman.
Mark Carroll is one of the most in demand singer-pianists in the nation. He has played engagements all over the world and has served as vocal coach to such stars as Barbara Eden, Martha Ray, Jeri Southern and Marlene Dietrich.
