Jill L. Brooks

Jill began her performing career in musical theatre in 1966 in Des Moines, Iowa.


Since then, she has performed Gilbert & Sullivan Operettas, Opera, Pop Standards, Big Band, Christian, Southern Gospel, and extensive choral music, but her favorite genre’ is musical theatre.


Most recently she has been seen as “Mother Abbess” in The Sound of Music and “Maude Dunlop” in The Music Man – both productions of Cedar Valley College Family Music Theatre.

Jill was co-creator and music director of an original Christian musical while attending Oral Roberts University. She holds a Bachelors of Arts and Sciences degree from Dallas Baptist University. She has been a choral director and worship leader in the DFW area.

Jill is currently in her 16th season as a member of the Dallas Symphony Chorus and has traveled with them to Israel, South America, and New York City for multiple performances at Carnegie Hall. She is a vocal coach and is currently employed by UT Southwestern Medical Center.

 

Jill wishes to thank her parents for providing a well-rounded musical upbringing and always encouraging her to keep on singing. Jill also thanks her Heavenly Father for entrusting her with the voice and talents to share music that moves our souls and lifts our spirits.
