Jackie has a career spanning a lifetime as a professional dancer, performer, teacher and choreographer. Following encouragement from Bill “Bojangles” Robinson she studied extensively with Louis DaPron at Universal Studios in Hollywood where she was often Donald O’Connor’s dance partner and appeared in many Universal movie musicals.
She has been a soloist with numerous Big Bands, including Tommy Dorsey, Gene Krupa, Frankie Masters and the Ames Brothers.
Jackie has appeared in countless television and nightclub engagements and staged many musicals for Dallas Repertory Theatre, Industrial Shows, and Universities.
Ms. Miller is often in demand to teach at many Dance Conventions throughout the US. She currently teaches regular classes in the Dallas area. She is an active board member of Texas Association Teachers of Dance (TATD), holds the office of Examinations Chairman, recently authored “Tips on Tap”, a tap handbook for teachers, and co-authored the Jazz Theory Book for TATD. Jackie is also member of Chicago National Association of Dance Masters and Dance Masters of America.
