Beth Pirtle

Beth Weems Pirtle was born in Mobile, Alabama and attended high school in West Columbia, Texas, where she was class president, class favorite, and was drum major of the band.  Beth graduated from the American High School in Mexico City where she became fluent in Spanish.  Cecil B. Demille selected her picture to appear in the yearbook for Emory University when she was sixteen years old.  She later graduated from the University of Texas in Austin, TX with a degree in Spanish.  Her first teaching assignment was teaching the hearing impaired and she had a 26 year career in that field.  She also holds a Masters degree in Communication from SMU.

Beth enjoys volunteering with Highland Park UMC choir, the United Nations Association, Church Women United, America Association of University Women, League of Women Voters, and  Women of Rotary.

Since retiring, she and her husband have been active in music entertainment, having performed not only locally, but also from coast to coast and on the QE2.

She is Ms. Texas Senior America 2003 and won 1st runner up Ms. Senior America 2003. 

Beth has been married to Rodney for 53 years.  They have three grown children and five grandchildren.
