THE DALLAS TAP DAZZLERS, a 501©3 non-profit organization, began in 1990 with seven talented dancers. Now with 22 members from all parts of the Metroplex, these vivacious ladies with an average age of 65 have dazzled audiences with more than 1350 performances. A former Kilgore Rangerette officer, Frances Dempsey, has been the sole Director/Choreographer with assistance from Dee Olson, and holds the group to extremely high performance standards. She says, "we may be old, but we are not going to DANCE old!"
This dynamic ensemble performs multiple times each month, entertaining audiences of all ages. As a result, the Dazzlers have established a reputation as one of the most entertaining and recognizable groups in the Metroplex.
White the Dazzlers enjoy the benefits of exercise (weekly rehearsals and year-round performances), fresh air (check out any parade in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area), fellowship (most members have been Dazzlers for over ten years) and laughter (just meet any one of these fabulous women and you'll soon be laughing, too) their REAL reward is being told they inspire all age groups, particularly those over 40 !
With colorful costumes and snappy routines, they have appeared on all major TV stations in Dallas, have graced the stage of the Morton Meyerson Center, opened for a Lee Greenwood concert, performed on a Caribbean cruise ship, and tapped more than 2 miles through Manhattan in New York's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. They even appeared on Cross Canadian Ragweed's first music video which was nominated for the "Country Music Video of the Year."
They boast five national dance competition titles from Las Vegas to New York, including a "Best Legs" award, competing with
'youngsters.' They have what they believe to be a world record. Four Dazzlers (one retired) have won the title of 'Ms. Texas Senior America.' The Dazzlers are extremely honored to perform in the Spectacular Senior Follies and hope you will visit their website www.dallastapdazzlers.org for more information about the group.
