Sheila Kay Barnett began taking tap dance and elocution lessons at the age of 4 and loved being on the stage and winning talent contests in the West Texas towns of Pecos, Monahans, and Odessa.
Kay took lessons from the Billie Lu School of Dance. At age 12, Kay added twirling lessons and loved being out in front of the band. She is Miss Pecos 1963 and Most Talented Non-Finalist Miss Texas.
Kay is a teacher by profession, a fit model having worked for 18 labels in Dallas, a retired flight attendant,a long time member of Class Act Tap Company, and a water aerobics teacher in McKinney. Kay is married 49 years to Jerry Barnett, a singer with the Dallas Doo Wop Band!
