Elizabeth Simons Varhaug, a Lake Highlands grad, was in All-State Choir and sang in the Kennedy Center and Carnegie Hall with American Youth Performs.
Studying voice and piano, she earned a Bachelor of Music in voice performance from SMU. She sang with the band, "Music", at the Gran' Crystal Palace, and in the LLOVE Musical Revue. In Houston, she sang roles with the Houston Gilbert and Sullivan Society, the Country Playhouse, was a church soloist, and in the Houston Grand Opera Chorus. Back in Dallas, she sang roles with the Texas Gilbert and Sullivan Company and is currently in the Dallas Symphony Chorus, a church soloist, voice teacher and piano accompanist.
She and her husband, Mark, have been blessed with 2 daughters and a little granddaughter.
